COLLABORATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS
COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIPS
The SDSC aims to facilitate a strong synergy between data providers, data and computer scientists, and subject-matter experts, fostering scientific breakthroughs with significant societal impact. Projects showing an interdisciplinary character by linking research groups from traditionally separated disciplines are privileged.
The 3rd Call for Collaborative Data Science Projects is Open
The Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) offers project grants for interdisciplinary research teams in one of these two themes:
– the in-depth analysis of a particular interdisciplinary data science problem in a specific scientific domain
– the development and the implementation of a technology or method
that has the potential of broadly enabling data science research
The average budget per project is expected to be between CHF 200’000.- and 600’000.- for a maximum duration of 24 months.

The best of both worlds
The SDSC brings a unique perspective to companies embarking on a data science journey as well as to those needing support to extract meaningful insights from their existing data. Its extensive academic network, fostering state-of-the-art research, as well as its industry-savvy experts with experience working with and for numerous corporations brings
a unparalleled perspective to its partners.
The SDSC funds Fellowships for PhD students currently enrolled at ETH Zürich or EPFL and supervised by Thesis Director from the same institution.
This call primarily targets research groups at EPFL and ETH Zurich that are working on data science and machine learning methods, broadly speaking. We invite proposals for research and development of data science methods, possibly motivated by a real-world use case, that have the potential of broadly enabling the adoption of data science in academia and industry.
2019 fellowships have been awarded.
Next PhD fellowships dates will be announced by the end of the year.
