Manuel Knott

Manuel became part of SDSC in 2021 through a collaborative PhD position with Empa working on the practical adaptation of visual foundation models. He earned his MSc in Data Science from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and both his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Before joining SDSC, he worked as a data scientist in the industry focusing on data-driven applications in manufacturing and 3D computer vision. More recently, as part of his PhD studies, Manuel broadened his research experience by joining the Caltech Vision Lab as visiting researcher.
