Call for Collaborative
Data Science Projects
The mission of the SDSC is to accelerate the adoption of data science and machine learning within academic disciplines of the ETH Domain, the Swiss academic community at large, and the industrial sector.
Towards that objective, the SDSC publishes an annual funding call for Collaborative Data Science Projects whose aim is to offer the possibility for research groups to benefit from the expertise of the SDSC and to undertake joint research projects with a strong data science component.
The 2023 call for projects is dedicated to collaborative projects related to the large scale infrastructures operated by the four research institutes, geared towards advancing the science, improving the operation, and the data analysis pipelines related to those facilities.

- Submission of pre-proposals — July 10, 2023
- Invitation to submit full proposals — August 14, 2023
- Submission of full proposals — October 30, 2023
- Final decision on full proposals — February 5, 2024
- Start of projects — March-June, 2024

LSI 2023 Call Submission
LSI data science projects are collaborative Data Science projects for the design, operation, and exploitation of large and complex research infrastructures, technology platforms, sensor networks, and databases operated by PSI, Empa, WSL, or Eawag.A list of eligible infrastructures is provided in the call documentation.
