Deploy your AI project
Are you an academic-industrial consortium, a Vaud-based company, or a representative of cantonal public administration with intermediate-to-advanced AI maturity, looking to launch an innovation project? You have some experience with AI projects, technical expertise, and usable data. You need financial support and in-depth data science expertise to deploy your solution.
The Canton of Vaud and the Swiss Data Science Center offer support for projects through their call for Vaud projects. Your organisation can be supported up to CHF 100,000 and 1.2 full-time equivalents (FTE) of data science, machine learning, and AI expertise for 12 months.

Targets
Vaud-based organizations
This call for Vaud projects is open to academic and industrial consortia, SMEs, start-ups and scale based in the Canton of Vaud as well as representatives of cantonal public administration.

Technical support and funding
Get comprehensive support, including financial and human resources, to create an AI solution or data-driven innovation project.
- The Canton of Vaud provides up to CHF 100,000 in funding to cover salary costs
- Technical support of 1.2 FTE from SDSC for one year, including data science, machine learning, and AI expertise, as well as an implementation guidance
- In return, successful applicants must contribute to the funding of their project with cash amounting to at least 20% of the requested funding; and a minimum of 0.1 academic FTE in the case of a consortium.

Guidelines for applicants
Submit a pre-proposal which includes the following details:
- Project description and objective (max. 200 words)
- Partners involved and their respective roles
- Description of the business model
- Information on the nature and availability of your data

Full applications will be reviewed by SDSC experts and external partners from academia and the industry for the second selection phase.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
