Matteo Fasulo
Matteo Fasulo joined the SDSC in December 2025 as a ML Engineer - Generative Design applied to Mechanical Engineering in the Research team, based in Zurich.
Matteo holds a BSc in Computer Science from LUMSA University and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bologna. He completed his Master’s thesis at the Integrated Systems Laboratory at ETH Zurich within the PULP Platform research group led by Prof. Luca Benini, where he developed TinyMyo, an efficient foundation model for electromyography (EMG) signals designed for human-machine interface applications and ultra-low-power edge deployment. Before joining SDSC, Matteo worked on LLM alignment at Outlier AI, focusing on RLHF, multimodal alignment, and RAG. He also conducted research on embedded AI systems at the University of L’Aquila, optimizing deep learning models on the Versal VCK190 adaptive SoC and analyzing timing performance and resource contention effects in AI Engine-based deployments for real-time assistive technologies.
