Ximena Bonilla

Ximena Bonilla joined the SDSC in March 2026 as a Deputy Lead Health and Biomedical in the Biomedical team, based in Lausanne.

Ximena Bonilla holds a medical degree, a masters in medical genetics, and a PhD in human genomics. Before joining SDSC, she held positions in academia and industry working at the intersection of clinical genomics, bioinformatics, and product development. Her work has included team leadership in tertiary analysis innovation, development of translational approaches for the interpretation of genomic data, and the study of the genomics of rare diseases and cancer in clinical and research settings.

At the SDSC, she will lead initiatives that bring together biomedical research, data science, and clinical expertise to enable responsible use of large-scale health data.
