Yifei Yuan

Yifei Yuan joined the SDSC in May 2025 as a postdoctoral researcher in the Research team, based in Zurich.

In this role she is focusing on political natural language processing (NLP). Yifei earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2023. Following that, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Coastal NLP group at the University of Copenhagen, working on multimodal handwriting recognition and representation learning.

Her research explores the intersection of NLP, information retrieval, and social media analysis, with a particular interest in how visual and textual signals can be integrated for deeper understanding of real-world communication, including political discourse and online behavior.
